Egba Diocese organizes tests for Priests and Wives
The Diocese of Egba (Anglican Communion) organized an exercise of series of medical tests for the clergy and their wives on the 14th of January, 2017 at the Ruby Multi-Purpose Hall inside the Bishop’s Court, Onikolobo, Abeokuta.
The exercise was a continuation of the medical Tests conducted at the Clergy Forum which was held in December as the second edition included the wives of the men of God. The exercise was conducted by the Medical team of the diocese (EDCHAW) which Revd. Canon F.A Olaniyan coordinated. The Medical tests included Sugar Level, Full Blood Count, Hepatitis B, Urinalysis, etc.
The Medical exercise was an initiative of the Diocesan, The Rt. Rev. E.O Adekunle and his amiable wife Dr. Mrs. O.O.M. Adekunle to ensure that the Clergy and their wives are in good state of health. Also, the initiative came to existence so as to educate as well as enlighten the priest and their wives about their state of health.
Mrs. Awotubo of St. Luke’s Ang. Church, Erunbe commended Baba and Mama Egba for the concept since many priests are unaware of their poor state of health when they meet the needs of their congregation.
In the same vein, Ven. J.D Omole of the Christ Anglican Church, Ijemo lauded the opportunity given to them to be tested and encouraged his fellow priests to do these tests as often as possible.
Mrs. Goodnews of the Chapel of St. Paul, Onikolobo, Abeokuta sincerely thanked the Bishop and his wife for this rare idea as she has been quite informed about her health. She also advised that this exercise should be done once a while.
The exercise witnessed a large number of Clergymen flanked by their wives. It was quite an enlightening and interactive forum.
