On the 17th of June, 2017, the diocesan Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle installed Pa. Olufemi Isreal Olajide as the Baba Ijo of St. Peter and Paul Church, Sountan. Chief Isreal Olufemi Olajide also celebrated his 8oth birthday and was installed as the Baale of Sountan village in the Olodo LCDA.

In his sermon, the diocesan likened the journey of Baba Isreal Olajide with that of Moses as Moses started his ministry at age 80, he further told baba that this is the beginning of what God intend to use him for.  

Also, diocesan urged people at the service to emulate from Baba’s sacrifice in order to give his children good education. He encouraged parents present to endeavor to give their children qualitative education as he admonished the celebrant to use the opportunity to uphold justice and speak for the helpless in the village. He continued by beseeching the children of the celebrant to make remarkable changes in the village and contribute their quota to the development of the village and community at large.

The Chairperson of Olodo LCDA,Hon. Deaconess Funke Soetan,  was also present to grace the occasion.

At the service, the diocesan renamed the church St. Peter and St. Paul Church, Sountan.

Earlier that day, the bishop Rt. Revd. Emmanuel O. Adekunle and his entourage paid episcopal visit to some churches in the archdeaconry. He visited St.  church, Mammy where he assured the parishioners of the reconstruction of the roof of the church. He also mandated the evangelist in charge of the church to organize revivals and crusades in the villages surrounding the church.

He also visited Christ Church, Agbe where the church members lamented on the poor turn out of men folks in the church with which the diocesan encouraged them to reach out to members who has stopped coming and also promised to invite dignitaries to the church.

The Diocesan with his entourage visited the Olu of Olodo HRM Oba Ebenezer Babatunde Adeosun later in the day as he was welcomed with joy by the King, Queen and his chiefs. The Olu of Olodo shared his heart of joy by appreciating the bishop for his love for his people. He was indeed delighted to have the bishop in his palace. He craved the indulgence of the bishop by asking him to pray for Olodo and Nigeria in general.

The bishop in return prayed for the king, Olori, Chiefs and the entire members of Olodo as he pleaded with the king to find a lasting solution to the Fulani herdsmen disturbing farmers in the environs.

The last point of call was St. Paul’s Church Lerin as the members have been waiting for the arrival of the bishop since 8:00 am. The diocesan met an ecstatic church who affectionately received the bishop. He promised to roof the church in earnest.
