Egba inaugurates Farmers Co-operative Society
The Diocese of Egba (Anglican Communion) on the 25th of July, 2017 inaugurated Farmers Cooperative society at the Ruby Hall.
The Inaugural meeting started with the opening prayer taken by Ven. Dele Alonge. After which the chairman of the Planning Committee Very Rev. Dr. Isaac Adeniji welcomed all prospective members to the meeting. He called the first speaker Mr. Olalekan Olamide , who highlighted the importance of the society as well as mention the companies like Peak who are running cooperative societies. He concluded that the church is supposed to set the pace for the government and we must cooperate with the leadership of the church.
Afterwards, the diocesan Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle gave a short speech on the relevance of the co-operative society. He prayed for a successful forum and further stated that the cooperative society is an empowerment initiative of the diocese targeted towards farmers in the diocese and the cooperative society is not necessarily on monetary terms.
Delegates from the Ogun State cooperative society were present as one of the delegates gave an enlightening talk on the Co-operative Society: Relevance and Mode of Operations.
Questions were taken from prospective members as enlightening answers were given to them by members of high table. The Diocesan, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle officially launched the Farmers Co –operative Society at the meeting and he announced the next meeting to take place on the 15th of August,2017 as motion for adjournment of the meeting was moved by two prospective members present.
