The primate of all Nigeria (Anglican Communion) the Most Revd. Nicholas D. Okoh has described Ogun state as a state of excellence and Egba land a soul of Christianity which should not be allowed to die.<\/p>\n
He gave this description at a dinner organised for the bishops, their wives and delegates to the standing committee meeting hosted by the paramount ruler of Egba land Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo the Alake of Egbaland in his palace at Abeokuta.<\/p>\n
Going down memory lane, the primate said a lot has come from the state and it is a gift from Jesus Christ adding that whatever Jesus gives is the best. Primate Okoh said education and great social engagement given to Egba land cannot be quantified. He admonished the Alake to continue to relate with Christ and his church so that the heritage must be allowed to pass on because it is the soul of the Egba people. According to him, it must be nurtured, promoted.<\/p>\n
He commended the great people of Egba ascendancy like Professor Adeoye Lambo and many other important personalities, eruditescholars that have made Nigeria proud because of their spirit of excellence. He prayed for longevity, prosperity and many laurels for the Oba and members of his cabinet.<\/p>\n
The primate did not end his address without commending the bishops who came from Egba land and worked tirelessly in the land. He gave kudos to the first African Anglican bishop Ajayi Crowther for his drive, commitment , steadfastness and uprightness.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
