The Synod was hosted by the office of the Diocesan, but held at both the Cathedral Church of St Peter, Ake and the Jubilee Multipurpose Hall, Bishopscourt, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

1.OPENING
The third session of the sixteenth Synod, with the theme: GODLY PARENTING: The Panacea for Rescuing a Degenerate Society from Gloom and Doom[Gen 18:19], hosted by the office of the Diocesan at the Cathedral Church of St Peter, Ake, Abeokuta in the Fifteenth Year of the Consecration of Rt. Revd Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle, Ph.D; Dip. Th, Diocesan and President of the Synod. He was ably assisted by other Bishops, the Dean of the Cathedral, Ven. S. O. B. Omidiji; the Registrar, Hon (Chief) B.O. Ogunmodede and other Diocesan Officials, with all Synod Delegates comprising members of the House of Clergy and House of Laity.

Below are the resolutions of the Synod:-
2.THE SYNOD THEME
The Synod examined the theme: GODLY PARENTING: The Panacea for Rescuing a Degenerate Society from Gloom and Doom [Gen 18:19]. ‘For I know him that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment, that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him’ The Synod highlighted the gloom and doom bedeviling our society which makes it a contrast of the ideal society God intended Gen 2: 8 – 17. A society characterized by a deep sense of love and compassion with commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ and following His example of selfless love and service to others. It is the absence of Godly parenting of our wards, at appropriate age, in their live times that manifested in the insecurity that currently plagues the nation.
Though Godly parenting may bear traits of authoritative styles, in adherence to the law and commandments of God as expressly stated in the Bible, its benefits are far more rewarding because it is a panacea for dousing activities like corruption, fraud, money ritual, promiscuity and ritual killing. God enjoins parents to perform this Biblical responsibility by showing good examples, regular teaching of their wards, and by employing training and discipline, at appropriate times.

3.YOUTHS IN THE DIOCESE
The Synod implored the youths in the Diocese to be weary of our world today where darkness seems to overshadow light, where chaos reigns over order, and where moral indecency threatens the fabric of society. The Synod promises to assist the youths in shunning these evils, and in avoiding the enticement of bad companies.

4.EGBA DIOCESE AND EVANGELISM
The Synod recognized the unrelenting effort of the Diocesan in fostering spiritual and numerical growth of the Diocese through the establishment of new churches, support for nascent parishes, medical outreaches and hospital evangelism via the outreach units, Evangelical Fellowship in Anglican Communion, EFAC; Anglican Students Fellowship, ASF; Egba Diocesan Medical Advisory Board, EDMAB and others. The Synod prayed that the trend should be sustained and improved upon.

5.FELICITATIONS

The Synod prayed that their tenure of office may be of tremendous achievements.
ii.Ruby Anniversary Celebration of the Diocese of Remo, Anglican Communion
The Synod felicitated with the entire Diocese of Remo, Anglican Communion on the 40th (RUBY) anniversary of the Diocese celebrated recently. It deeply appreciated the good gesture of counting our Bishop worthy to be a recipient of a MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD as part of their celebration.
iii.Appointment as Chairman of Ogun State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)
The Synod also felicitated with the Lord Bishop and President of the Synod Rt Revd (Dr) E. O. Adekunle on his recent emergence as the substantive Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria. It is the prayer of the Synod that the good Lord will assist him to make a success of the office.

6.STATE ISSUES
The Synod commended the Governor of the State, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, CON, MFR, members of the State Executive Council for their efforts to complement the Federal Government in ameliorating the hardship faced by citizens of Ogun State in the area of palliatives both in cash and kind, at various times and in distribution of foodstuffs to workers, in churches, and in mosques. It however calls the attention of Mr Governor to the Agricultural sector which needs some rejuvenations. The Synod noted that Agricultural tractors and implements were procured in large numbers and distributed to farmers in some States, while farm settlements inherited by some States from the Western Region Government of the first republic are being rehabilitated to increase food production and reduce food insecurity. The Synod further noted that Ogun State has its own share of Farm Settlements inherited from the Western Region Government, and it implores the State Government to rejuvenate these facilities, and make appropriate use of them, for the benefits of its citizenry

7.NATIONAL ISSUES
The Synod observes that eleven months after the present Federal Government, led by His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, came on board, the economic fortunes of Nigerians have not shown remarkable improvements. Citizens appear to be facing more hardship, in many facets of life despite some economic and financial reforms initiated by the Federal Government. The effects of high cost of living, and the depreciating value of the National Currency (Naira), in the international money market, make life rather uncomfortable for an average Nigerian. Though it is not unaware of a short-lived incipient appreciation of the Naira, it is the wish of the Synod that a continuous and sustained up turn of the value of the Naira should be vigorously pursued. Good and well intended, which the removal of petrol subsidy is, it is yet to produce a noticeable reduction in the high cost of goods and services. It is more beneficial for the Federal and other tiers of Government to embark on increasing supply of foodstuffs and vegetables, while they refrain from increasing tariffs on electricity and other public utilities. Provision of a secured physical environment for peace and tranquility is of course a necessary requirement that should be given urgent attention.
Lastly the Synod watches with concern, a resurgence of vehicle queues in petrol stations in some of our major cities, and wonders if the anticipated gains of subsidy removal, noticeable in the last few months, are not being prematurely withered. It therefore calls on the Federal Government to urgently revert the ugly situation and restore normalcy.

8.GLOBAL ISSUES
i.Climate Change
The Synod understands that the issue of climate change is a prevailing challenge confronting the entire globe and its continuous existence. Its extreme temperature which causes profuse sweating, and heat rashes, make life less comfortable. The Synod therefore calls on relevant government agencies responsible for weather conditions, and health matters to give timely notices of predictions and advice, on how to minimize the effect on the citizenry.
ii.Economic Recession
The Synod undertook a review of economic recession which has been causing high inflation, and unemployment that make life less bearable to people. It therefore calls for concerted efforts of Government to address these issues.

9.APPRECIATION
The Synod extended appreciation to some great men/women, whom God continually use to support the Diocese, in many of its endeavours. It recognized, in particular, His Royal Majesty, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo, CFR, Chief Olusegun Oladipo Osunkeye CON, OFR, OON and Chief (Mrs) Abosede Modupe Osunkeye. The Synod also expressed appreciation to Prof and Prof (Mrs) David Olayinka Akinola, for their support in ensuring a successful Synod outing.
